Elora Kalita

I am Elora Kalita, a recent MSc Biochemistry graduate from the Central University of Rajasthan.

I have been a part of the Infectious Disease Bioinformatics Laboratory during my tenure of MSc research work at CUoR and have worked mainly with respiratory viruses. I have contributed to literature surveys and experimental proceedings analyzing the cross-species transmission potential of the Nipah virus (NiV) through phylogenetic studies. I have also worked in the computational prediction of antigenic residues of NiV proteins for antiviral construction. As a part of my MSc thesis work, I have studied the Camelidae nanobodies for constructing a bispecific nanobody drug conjugate against SARS CoV-2, and am currently designing its manuscript for publication.

Previously, I have also been a summer trainee for Computer-aided drug designing studies at the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Assam, and a SARSTEM Summer Research Fellow 2021. I have also first-authored a book chapter on Secretory proteins as potential biomarkers that have been accepted by the Advances in Protein Chemistry and Structural Biology (APCSB) journal and co-authored two other papers, one in Bacteriophage therapy and another in miRNA biomarkers, that are currently in communication.
